Seeing the final product of a fashion collection is one thing, but what about the process behind the clothing?
I often carry around little notebooks spilling with doodles, thoughts and ripped out pieces of magazines. I collect them because they often come into play when I'm designing a collection. While these pieces are not necessarily refined nor finished, they represent ideas that are in the process of transformation. Free to be turned inside-out and back again until they're refined, the raw work can often shed light on inspiration at its peak.
I recently updated my portfolio to apply for a course in Fashion & Textiles at the The Glasgow School of Art. In the process I thought I'd share a few pictures to demonstrate the mood boards, doodles and random pieces that all go into the mix.
For the next few weeks, I'll be posting a selection of images from my previous collections.
First up: SYMBIOTIC.
